In order to meet international standards for trading chia, quinoa and other high-value products, Amatheon Trading GmbH undertook the International Featured Standard (IFS) Broker certification process in 2019. Since then, the company completes the annual IFS Broker audits and is officially accredited as a trader for dry products, cereal products and oil seeds. This certification proves the company’s compliance to trade with suppliers that operate in accordance to specific product safety and quality requirements. In addition, Amatheon Trading GmbH also became accredited with an ABCert certificate that permits the company to act as an importer and trader of organic products within the European Union (DE-ÖKO-006). These two certificates – in addition to the newly accredited HACCP management systems at farm level in Zambia and Uganda – lay the foundations for Amatheon’s international trading activities for both conventional and organic products for clients worldwide.
