Following World Environmental Day on 5 June, Amatheon Agri Zambia is proud to receive an Environmental Award by the Zambian Environmental Management Authority (ZEMA) for its contribution to the country’s sustainable development. The prize highlights Amatheon’s consistent engagement with the authority over agricultural developments, utilization of best environmental technology and practices, a specialized department dedicated to Sustainable Development and a history of successful compliance with Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs). Of all registered companies and institutions in Zambia, only two were awarded in the ESIA category. Shortlisted organizations were selected by a review panel and winners were publicly announced during a ceremony in the country’s capital, Lusaka. Amatheon Agri Zambia’s Sustainable Development Manager, Mr. Tobias Muyaba, accepted the award on behalf of the company. “It is an honor to receive this prestigious award,” he said. “We are fully committed to best social and environmental performance and will continue to lead by example.”
