After being selected by the US Government’s Agency for International Development (USAID), Amatheon Agri has participated in a co-creation workshop focused on ways to find solutions to barriers to responsible land-based investments. Over 50 organisations around the world applied to participate in the workshop which aimed to identify major barriers to responsible land-based investments and discuss possible solutions. Considering Amatheon’s significant first-hand experience and its strong commitment to ethical and sustainable investments, Amatheon was one of the eight chosen organisations to join. After the workshop, strategically aligned working groups will develop thorough project concept notes to be submitted to an independent scientific review board. USAID’s potential funding will allow pilot projects to road-test solutions across Africa and contribute to establishing best practices for the future. Amatheon was represented by two members of its the Sustainable Development Department and aims to collaborate with the Zambia Land Alliance (ZLA) to develop a concept note.
